Nanda Devi is one of the world's famous festivals of Uttarakhand in India. People from Garhwal and Kumaon division as well as other parts of India and the world participate in Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. Nanda Devi is believed to have been the Goddess worshipped by the kings of the Garhwal and Kumaun regions.
This ancient temple is one of the prime attractions of Almora town. The images and statues on walls of this temple are intricately and skillfully carved. They are very attractive and true to life depictions have been done. Every year a fair, Nanda Devi festival, is organized here, which is attended by people from uttarakhand and all over the place. This thousands year old temple is one of the main attraction of Almora, Uttarakhand. Every year a festival is held in Almora and Nainital in honour of Nanda Devi and thousand of people participate.
